SoCal Family Trip- part two
We stopped at several beautiful beach towns along the way from Los Angeles to San Diego (& back). We stopped in Long Beach, Laguna Beach, Oceanside, Coronado, & Newport Beach. They were all so amazing in their own ways. Laguna Beach had such a beautiful landscape on the beach, with high cliffs and mossy green rocks. Oceanside had a cool surfer vibe. Newport Beach had a fun boardwalk and happened to catch the best sunset of our SoCal family trip there.
Our week in Southern California went by so fast, but it’s also good to be home. I love how traveling always make me appreciate home more! And Ivy’s happy to be back to her normal routine! We’re so lucky to have a chill baby. She handled her first flight & road trip around SoCal like a champ! Garrett and I thought her first steps were going to be at the beach, but no such luck! Every time we let go she just immediately sits down like “nope, no way, not ready!” Haha! I know it’ll be any day now!

SoCal Family Trip 2017-
We spent an amazing 7 days in sunny California the first week of March. Having this quality family time was so amazing… speaking my love language here! We started off our trip in the LA area. Did some touristy stuff like hiking to the Hollywood sign & eating in West Hollywood at a yummy burger joint called Shake Shack. Haha, this was the day after arriving in Los Angeles and immediately grabbing In-N-Out! Ya gotta! We walked all around Venice Beach which was so funky and cool. Saw the famous “Muscle Beach”… tried to convince Garrett to take off his shirt & pose for a cheesy pic. Haha, he didn’t go for it! We also went to the Santa Monica Pier to ride the Ferris Wheel (they allowed Ivy too!) & watch the sunset!
After our time in LA we headed south down the coast. The next stop on our SoCal family trip was to Long Beach where we spent time at the beach and some parks for Ivy. If there’s a swing set, we will find it! We also did a harbor boat tour and saw sea lions & dolphins. Super cool! Garrett really wanted to tour the USS-Iowa Battleship so we went & climbed all around on there too. Not totally my thing, but I made the most of it! I appreciate the history aspect of it. Next we headed to Laguna Beach on our way to San Diego!
More to come in a future post! Didn’t want to go too overboard with pictures all in one post! Thanks for reading! Have you done a SoCal Family trip? Where did you go? Please share in the comments below!
